Therapy

Therapy offers a space to slow down and begin making sense of emotional difficulties, relational patterns, or experiences that may feel difficult to manage alone.

Some people come to therapy with a clear understanding of what they would like support with, while others arrive with a more general sense that something does not feel quite right. This may include anxiety, emotional overwhelm, difficulties within relationships, or patterns that feel hard to shift despite insight or self-awareness.

My work is grounded in an attachment-informed and trauma-focused approach, with an emphasis on understanding how emotional experiences, relationships, and patterns of coping can develop over time.

Sessions are collaborative and paced carefully, creating space to explore experiences with greater clarity, understanding, and support. Therapy is tailored to individual needs and may integrate approaches such as EMDR where appropriate.

Neurodivergence

I offer therapy for neurodivergent adults and older adolescents, including individuals who identify as autistic or as having ADHD.

This may involve exploring experiences such as masking, overwhelm, burnout, or feeling different in ways that have impacted self-esteem, relationships, or coping patterns over time.

Where helpful, we can think together about how these experiences intersect with emotional wellbeing, and how to support your system in a way that feels more manageable and sustainable.

Working with Older Adolescents

I also work with older adolescents (typically aged 16+) who may be experiencing anxiety, emotional overwhelm, or difficulties in relationships, identity, or life transitions.

This often includes young people navigating periods of change, such as moving through sixth form, college, or preparing for university, where pressures can feel heightened and patterns more noticeable.

Some may have experienced challenges within friendships or peer groups, including bullying or feeling excluded, which can have a lasting impact on confidence and sense of self.

My approach with adolescents is similar to my adult work, focusing on understanding patterns, emotional experience, and how earlier or more recent experiences may be shaping the present.

Where helpful, I can work alongside parents in a contained and thoughtful way, while maintaining a clear focus on the young person’s therapeutic space.

This work is generally most helpful for adolescents who feel able to engage in a reflective therapeutic process.

Considering Therapy?

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, particularly if you are unsure where to begin or whether this approach is right for you.

I offer a free 15-minute discovery call to briefly discuss what has led you to seek support at this time, answer any questions you may have about therapy or the process, and think together about whether this approach feels like the right fit for your needs.
