EMDR Intensives

A more focused and immersive therapeutic space than standard weekly therapy.

EMDR intensives provide extended time for preparation, processing, reflection, and integration within a more contained period of support. For some people, this format can allow therapeutic work to develop with greater continuity and momentum than may be possible within shorter weekly sessions.

Feeling Stuck?

If weekly therapy has started to feel difficult to build momentum within, or if you are looking for a more focused period of therapeutic work, EMDR intensives may offer a different way of working.

This format may be particularly helpful for people who:

  • feel stuck in recurring emotional or relational patterns

  • are working through a specific experience, relationship, or period of life

  • struggle to reconnect with difficult material between weekly sessions

  • prefer a more immersive and contained therapeutic process

  • have demanding schedules or limited availability for ongoing weekly therapy

Intensives are not about “pushing through” emotional work quickly. The focus remains on pacing, stability, and working in a way that feels safe and manageable.

My Approach to Intensives

My intensive work is grounded in an attachment-informed and trauma-focused approach, integrating EMDR within a wider understanding of emotional patterns, coping strategies, relationships, and nervous system responses.

Preparation and stabilisation form an important part of the process. Before beginning intensive processing work, we spend time developing understanding, safety, and clarity around the areas we are working with.

Intensives are carefully paced and adapted to individual needs. For some people, this may involve moving more gradually or integrating additional grounding and resourcing work throughout the process.

The Intensive Framework

EMDR intensives are supported by a structured reflective framework designed to guide preparation, processing, and integration throughout the therapeutic process.

This framework follows three broad phases:

Reveal workbook symbol representing self-awareness and reflection

Reveal

Developing understanding and awareness of emotional patterns, coping strategies, and relational experiences.

Rewire workbook symbol representing therapeutic processing and emotional awareness

Rewire

Supporting therapeutic processing and emotional change through focused EMDR work.

Reclaim workbook symbol representing integration, self-trust and growth

Reclaim

Integrating these changes into daily life, relationships and sense of self.

This framework forms part of the wider Manifesting Mettle intensive model and is designed to help therapy feel more contained, reflective and integrated over time.
